Passing the Civil Engineering Board Exam in the Philippines enables one to become a licensed civil engineer and to practice engineering in the country. A licensed civil engineer in the Philippines can hold various positions in the construction industry, such as:

The application dates for the 2023 Civil Engineering Board Exam of the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) in the Philippines are from August 17, 2023 (Thur) to October 18, 2023 (Wed).

Date of Exam: 17-18 November, 2023 (Fri, Sat)

Target date of exam result release: 24 November, 2023

Please be reminded of the following requirements to apply for the licensure exam:

  • Most recent NBI Clearance
  • Two (2) Certificates of Good Moral Character
  1. Barangay
  2. Church
  3. School
  4. Employer
  • NSO / PSA Birth Certificate
  • Exam taker must be a Filipino citizen and 21 years of age
  • NSO / PSA Marriage Contract (for married female applicants)
  • Applicants must be a graduate of a civil engineering degree program from a recognized institution.
  • Transcript of Records
  • High school Diploma
  • 2×2 Pictures / with scanned picture and Remarks "For Board Examination Purposes"
  • Medical Records
  • Examination Fee Payment
  • Payment of 900 pesos

Keep in mind that in recent months, the PRC has made numerous statements about the postponement of many regional licensure examinations. It included the ones scheduled for June, July, and August. Other licensing tests, such as those for Civil Engineering and Chemical Engineering, may take place regularly as writing. Those who are involved are encouraged to join the PRC social media page for more updates.



General Instruction during the Civil Engineering Board Exam:

1. The NOTICE OF ADMISSION will be issued at the POLO/testing centers.

2. Please bring original documents with you for final evaluation and four (4) pieces passport size pictures with name tag.

3. Bring the following on the days of the examination:

  • Two (2) or more pencils (No. 1 or 2)
  • One (1) piece long brown envelope
  • One (1) piece long transparent/non-colored plastic envelope (for keeping your valuables and other allowed items)
  • NON-PROGRAMMABLE CALCULATORS. ONLY ONE (1) CALCULATOR IS ALLOWED INSIDE THE EXAMINATION ROOM. ALL CALCULATORS SHALL BE THOROUGHLY INSPECTED BY THE EXAMINATION PERSONNEL

4.The following are PROHIBITED inside the examination premises/rooms:

  • Books, notes, review materials, and other printed materials containing coded data/information/formula
  • PROGRAMMABLE CALCULATORS AND CALCULATORS WITH EMBEDDED FUNCTIONS.
  • APPLE, SAMSUNG AND OTHER SMART WATCHES, CELLULAR PHONES, EAR PLUGS, TRANSMITTERS, PORTABLE COMPUTERS, BLUETOOTH AND OTHER ELECTRONIC GADGETS/DEVICES WHICH MAY BE USED TO STORE OR RETRIEVE DATA/INFORMATION AND/OR TO COMMUNICATE FOR WHATEVER PURPOSE
  • Bags of any kind (ladies bag, shoulder bags, attaché case, backpacks, etc.)
  • Other examination aids not stated in this program.


All personal belongings of the examinees shall be surrendered to the proctor and shall be placed in a secured space within the examination room.

The rules on the conduct of bodily search, inspection of personal belongings of the examinees, and the seizure/confiscation of prohibited items during the licensure exam (Annex A of PRC Memorandum Order No. 57, s. 2020) shall be strictly observed.

5. Read carefully and follow the instructions on your NOTICE OF ADMISSION and EXAMINEES GUIDE.

6. Examinees shall follow the health and safety protocols being implemented by the host country.
